Soviet twin-engine fighter of the fourth generation originally designed purely for winning the air superiority. Newer versions are designed for strikes on ground targets and for service on aircraft carriers. The machine, which is three decades after its establishment, modern and effective weapons got into the arms of the Soviet Union and its satellites, including Czechoslovakia, Syria or North Korea.
